What is the Casey Deer Memorial Scholarship?

Casey Deer is the daughter of Clarksville Athletic Club owner, Nathan Deer. The Casey Deer Memorial Scholarship was founded after Casey was tragically killed in an automobile accident in August 1999 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky where she resided. Casey had a loving passion for animals and had always wanted to be a veterinarian. After her time was cut so short at the age of 16, the scholarship was founded in her name to help all Montgomery County and Christian County students go to a college of their choice in the Pre-Veterinary field.

CAC’s Casey Deer Memorial Scholarship Zumbathon

Clarksville Athletic Club hosts their annual Zumbathon in the month of October to raise money for the Casey Deer Memorial Scholarship Foundation.  In 2011, the foundation helped send three students to college. 






Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program

In May 2012, Clarksville Athletic Club was officially "Green Certified" through the CMC Green Certification Program for its past, present, and future sustainability achievements.  CAC is making strides everyday to reduce our impact on the environment.  One example is in August 2011, the Club and our members began recycling over 700 plastic bottles per month!  That's an average of over 8,000 bottles/year not going into our local landfill!  We have made efforts in purchasing more energy-efficient equipment and our latest upcoming project is replacing the lighting fixtures to be more energy-efficient.  Once this is completed, CAC would have a pollution reduction of 82 tons/year of CO2 removed from the environment. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Clarksville Athletic Club has two designated pink treadmills on its main cardio floor.  Every mile that our members run or walk on these treadmills, CAC donates 10 cents to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.  In the first three months of starting the program, CAC members helped raise over $1500.00!
